Epsom Salt

Many years ago, English (or bitter) salt was the most popular medicine in England. Those days people knew nothing about its antiseptic and detoxification properties. However, they understood that it somehow treats diseases and prolongs life. They empirically found out that English salt prevents the development of sclerosis, kidney diseases and rheumatism.

English bitter salt, or Epsom salt, has anti-cellulite, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging properties. It helps to get rid of subcutaneous fat, has a relaxing and soothing effect. Nowadays Epsom salt is used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. It consists of magnesium sulfate. Many modern diets contain very little magnesium and sulfates. But these minerals are really important for the body.

Magnesium improves the cardiac and circulatory systems, cleans the cells of toxins and heavy metals, normalizes the nervous system by regulating electrolytes, improves the body's ability to use insulin, raises serotonin levels, which reduces stress and uplifts, improves sleep and concentration, regulates enzymes, increases the ability to absorb oxygen, reduces pain and tension in the muscles.

Sulfates are also necessary for well-being. They are used to release the toxins, improve the absorption of nutrients and protein compounds, nourish brain tissue and help prevent headaches and migraines. Magnesium and sulfates are very well absorbed through the skin. It means that salt baths are not only pleasant, but also quite useful!
